Harsh self criticism

So often we are much kinder to others than we are to ourselves. So often, I see people inflict harsh

self-criticism and cruelty on themselves. Things that they would never do or say to another person. What difference would it make if you could treat yourself with the kind of care, compassion and respect that you would a friend?


Self-compassion is a skill. Like with most skills it requires some practice and takes time. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy provides a great learning ground for developing skills of self-compassion.
