Different types of suffering coexist

Different types of suffering coexist. It's unhelpful when we rank one against the other and tell someone who is suffering that, "others have it worse". Yes, it's true that there are people going through much worse-which can  help to put ours troubles in perspective. But really this shift in thinking is something for the person suffering to contemplate- not for anyone else to impose. There's a good chance that they already carry guilt and shame as a result of feeling their problem(s) aren't as bad as others. Let's avoid invalidating and punitive remarks that erase people's lived experiences of suffering. Suffering is suffering. Follow me on Instagram and facebook.
